Don’t Use a Nuke Button in Your Shopping Cart
While recently reviewing WordPress shopping cart plugins, I came across the Tobashops Wordress theme. On the surface it looks very very cool – great layout and even has a product review functionality. However, adding a product to my cart, here’s the page I’m sent to:
What’s wrong with this picture? The first button I see says EMPTY CART! WTF? Not only is this page encouraging me to throw away what I was considering purchasing, but it also makes me search for the Proceed to Checkout link. It serves up a Nuke Button instead of helping me give the merchant money.
If you want people to buy from you, Don’t Make Them Think! Give them a nice big juicy BUY NOW button that sticks out.
