Why You Should Use Negative Keywords in AdWords

Here's a good example of why you should use negative keywords in AdWords. Take a look at the search I performed when looking for a "live chat software" solution and note the second paid result.

One would asume the addition of the word "software" in my search query would insinuate my intent. I'm not in-fact looking for love on a live chat dating site (I swear, I'm happily marries), I'm looking for "live chat software" – software I can install on a website to better service my customers (so so we're clear).

I'm sure this advertiser would reduce the number of unqualified clicks and increase their over campaign quality if they added "software" as a negative to this AdWords campaign.
